| Established in April 1997, the Lancashire Purchasing Agency (LPA) part of the dukefield Group is the sole Purchasing Agent to Lancashire County council, responsible for carrying out the contract pruchasing arrangements for a wide range of goods and services used throughout all departments of the authority.
The Lancashire Purchasing Agency provides the following benefits to Lancashire County Council customers:
a) The LPA Price Promise
The LPA will endeavour to match or beat any accredited suppliers price, on identical products featured in annual catalogues, this excludes special offers and is subject to the provision of supporting information.
b) Purchasing Cards
Lancashire county council and the LPA have identified that significant advantages are to be gained using purchasing cards as part of the county's purchase ordering and payment processes.
c) Red Rose Products
All products have been specially selected for the use of Lancashire County Council customers. Each complies with E.C. supplies directive, COSHH regulations or products safety requirements.
d) Keeping an eye on the environment
wherever possible, only those products which have little or no impact on our environment are chosen for inclusion in this catalogue. We take ecological responsibility very seriously and always endeavour to choose the greener option where two or more products are available.
The value of contracts now managed by the LPA is in the region of £150m.
